I know I mentioned a couple of weeks ago about the moms in the books I write. How they are not reflective of my mom and my step-mom who have been wonderful.
In my new release Summer's Song, my heroine, Summer Sinclair, is struggling to be a good mom to her son. She's lost temporary custody of him and has a court date in thirty days to try to regain custody. Unfortunately, Summer's mom is more concerned about making sure Summer stays in the music business to keep them in the lifestyle they are accustomed to.
Summer's mom seems to highlight Summer's failures. The hero in the book, Levi, brings to light Summer's accomplishments praises her often. Summer is so not used to that!
Here's Summer and Levi. Doesn't he just look like he wants to sing her praises?
I know I've made mistakes raising my kids, but I'm glad I had supportive people around me to guide me and help me out.
What about you? Did you have a great support group, family, friends while raising your kids?
