ACFW Conference This Week!

Missy, here. I'm putting this post up ahead of time since I'll be at the American Christian Fiction Writers conference in Dallas, Texas. I'll be in Mindy's neck of the woods! And will be able to visit with my fellow bloggers Mindy and Angie!

I love being able to go to conferences. They're a great time to see online writing friends that I only get to see once or twice a year. They also give me the opportunity to meet with others in the publishing industry including my editor (or other editors from Love Inspired) and my agent, Natasha Kern.

The conferences I attend present workshops on a variety of topics, offered by some of the best in the business. This year, the Early Bird session I'll be attending will be taught by Nancy Kress. And the keynote speaker for the conference is Michael Hyatt.

Here's a link to show the list of those who'll be teaching at the conference. I can't wait for all the learning ahead!

Do you like attend conference for your writing (if you're a writer) or for your job? What do you like and what don't you like?

  1. Missy, I've been to one large conference (RWA) in 09 and then one smaller conference here in Kansas. I'm an introvert but I love conferences. I love the opportunity to meet people in person and I love the workshops. Although I intend on buying ACFW cds this year you just can't beat the in person participation at a conference.

  2. Christina, I'm late in responding to your comment! I'm sorry I didn't see it till now.

Yes! Conferences can be really draining for introverts (I'm one, too). But it's still so fun to see everyone! I hope to get to see you in person next time. :)
