Fall Break in Washington, D.C.

Missy, here. I'm sorry I missed posting last week. But I have a good excuse. I was in Washington, DC, with my family for fall break. :)

We had a fantastic time. I thought I'd share a few photos...

The Capitol Building as we approached for a tour. Had a beautiful angle through these trees.

The fresco on the ceiling of the dome inside the Capitol. Amazing.

The Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial. Massive and impressive. Very moving to see it, as well as to read his quotes on the surrounding walls.

The Lincoln Memorial. Another very moving place for me to visit.

The Washington Monument behind the World War II Memorial.

The Jefferson Memorial across the tidal basin.

The Vietnam Memorial.

I have many photos! Too many to share even a fraction. We visited the Smithsonian (Air and Space as well as American History museums). Also visited the National Holocaust Museum. Overall, we had a great time, and really enjoyed being together. If you haven't visited our nation's capital, I hope you'll plan to sometime!

  1. Missy, I love DC. It's been a while since I've been, but what a great town!

  2. I went to DC when I was in high school on a band trip. We played at the capital! Very cool.

I most remember visiting the Smithsonian. It was huge and I think we only got to visit one of the buildings.

I'm sure your trip wasn't on such a tight schedule.

  3. Dianna, we flew up to save time. But we only stayed 3 nights, so we just couldn't do everything we wanted.

Lindi, you'll have to go back soon!
