It Is Well With Our Souls-Perfume

Lindi here.

Continuing on with the It Is Well With Our Souls series, I'm going to talk about a controversial topic today.

Perfume.

I was at church last Sunday and one of my friends had on the BEST smelling perfume. It reminded me of how much I love a good scent.

I say perfume is a controversial subject because in almost every conference or big meeting type of environment we are all encouraged NOT to wear perfume. And I'm one of those people that can get an instant headache from certain scents.

For me to purchase perfume I have to snag a sample and wear it at least a day before buying. And things can change. I used to be able to wear Eternity, but now, just the faintest whiff and I'm on my way to a headache.

Right now my scent of choice is Lovely, by Sarah Jessica Parker. And last week I doused myself in it.

Yesterday, I ran into my friend again, and she had another great scent on. Seriously, I don't know how many perfumes this gal has, but I need to start taking names. I'm thinking I can wear them because they didn't bother me when I hugged her. No, I just breathed her in.

Wearing perfume makes me feel extra feminine, which is why I posted this in the IIWWMS series.

Where are you on the perfume fence?

Always?

Never?

  1. I don't wear it because my husband can't smell it and the cost for the good ones. The cheap perfumes make me cough. The good ones can go either way. But I adore a good light scent. One that's ethereal, not cloying. Sometimes we women put on too much. A touch here and there is perfect.

  2. I adore perfume! My favorite for the last year is Flowerbomb. I am addicted to the stuff! I tend to want to bathe in it. LOL But the family doesn't appreciate my over-fondness for it, so I'm trying to restrain myself. :)

  3. I love it but wear it rarely because so many get headaches from perfume. But I do indulge on the days I'm going to be home most of the day. I love Baby Grace, Amazing Grace and Pure Grace by Philosophy.

  4. Ang, I agree the good ones are usually expensive. I always ask for them for gifts for Christmas. :)

  6. Diana--I have never heard of those perfumes. I'll have to check them out. And I'm like you, I don't wear when I'm going to be in a crowd.
